Why the kid gloves treatment for Jamal, Ali Tinju?

YOURSAY ‘Jamal should be stripped of his ‘datuk’ title. It’s an insult to all other datuks.’

Jamal arrested, Petaling Street rally called off

Vijay47: The police "advised" Malaysian Armed Forces Veteran Association president Mohd Ali Baharom (aka Ali Tinju) to cancel the rally?

Instead, the police should have grabbed that thug by the scruff of his mangy neck and told him, "Look here, you moron. If we catch you or your other mat rempits anywhere near Petaling Street trying to create racial strife, the FRU (riot police) will wade in and whack the living daylights out of you before throwing you into the clink."

That should teach Mohd Ali a thing or two. By the way, Petaling Street was not paved with gold that the Chinese took over and monopolised. It was just another road whose success and international fame is due to sheer hard work and commitment.

Remember that Chinaman who had this insane idea of establishing a holiday resort in the jungle high on a hill far from anywhere? It is now a household name across the world.

So stop whining, Mohd Ali and Rural and Regional Development Minister Yaakob Ismail Sabri, the wide world is there for you to tap. Even Kampung Baru.

Kim Quek: You know why Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Md Yunos was detained and Ali Tinju cancelled the rally?

This is because PM Najib Razak is in New York attending a series of meetings at the United Nations, and he would be thoroughly embarrassed if his men at home started a racial riot.

As it is, he could hardly cope with the shame of being probed in United States and other countries over his grand corruption scandals and the alleged 1MDB embezzlement.

Turvy: There is a clear method in the madness that we see around us. The ploy is to let loose the fringe of madmen, make them threaten racial violence and inundate the media with their spewing.

Do everything possible to distract the people from the real issues - the massive thefts and breaches of trust that are going on. That's what is happening.

That is why, we hear nothing from the big boys of the party, who have all gone silent and only the footmen and the batmen who do the laundry are out there hanging out the soiled fabric of this nation.

There is clearly a method and the method is also the madness. We can only hope that the few men of honour left in places of importance are able to rein in the madness before it consumes us all.

Multi Racial: Don't just arrest Jamal, arrest also Mohd Ali, who together with Jamal attempted to blackmail the authorities using the threat of violence against the Chinese minority.

These two racists should not be allowed to cause disharmony in this country. After that, the police should investigate the leader who instigated them.

Whoever the person and whatever position, he or she should be arrested as well. There is no room for racism and no room for violence.

Headhunter: Although it is long overdue, we applaud the police for their action. Yes, they should also go after the other antagonist, Ali Tinju.

Dangerous people like them should be locked up so that other law-abiding citizens can live in peace.

Anonymous 109681439536914: Does the AG (attorney-general) realise how silly he was to drop the charges against Ali Tinju on earlier offence?

These fanatics can act this way because they are protected by Umno big guns. They appear to be above the law, unlike ordinary citizens.

Benghazi: This arrest is only for show - to tell Malaysians that police are fair. Very soon this man will be as free as a bird and make more seditious statements. He seems to love the publicity and probably he wants his boss to notice him.

The process of getting a cabinet’s post is highly competitive, and they are reserved for great bootlickers. After all, Salleh Said Keruak got the promotion he was seeking.

Bystander: How despicable and incorrigible Ali Tinju is! He distant himself at the last minute from the Petaling Street rally but also said he could not guarantee that there would not be one.

No one needed him for such a guarantee in the first place if he was not the one who initiated the rally.

Swipenter: Just like the red shirt rally, the organisers behind the Petaling Street rally are hiding behind a veil of anonymity or trying to sow confusion on who they really are to deflect responsibility.

This is deliberately done and is a slap in the face for the Special Branch, or is it? The big question is why the IGP (inspector-general of police) didn't act much earlier when incitement to riot and violence was uttered.

Since the PM is in New York, this brings to the question who is in charge in the interim period? Our home minister cum DPM has not uttered one single word on this matter so far.

Tpn: Jamal should be stripped of his datuk title. It’s an insult to all the other datuks.

Anonymous 759201436321741: On Friday, the Chinese ambassador to Malaysia took a stroll down Petaling Street. Today, droves of Chinese tourists may do the same.
