DAP wants to table motion to condemn 'racist' Sept 16 rally

DAP Tanjong MP Ng Wei Aik wants to table a motion in Parliament to condemn the Sept 16 red shirt rally, which he described as "racist and inciting racial tension".

Ng wrote a letter to Dewan Rakyat secretary Rosme Hamzah to request that the motion be tabled on a day in the coming Parliament proceeding, which will be held from October to December.

"The rally was racist and inciting racial tension as it demanded for Chinese language schools to be closed, accused the police of being a lackey of the Chinese and also questioned the existence of Little India," he said at a press conference held in his service centre in George Town today.
