Azmin: No split in PKR over Pakatan Harapan
PKR deputy president Azmin Ali denied a split within the party, following the formation of Pakatan Harapan, despite a petition on the matter by 25 of PKR central committee members.
He said the petition, which questions the formation of the new opposition pact, has yet to be discussed.
He also said this is an internal matter which will not be discussed with the media.
"There is no split (in the party). This is an internal matter. We will not discuss internal matters openly," he told reporters in Shah Alam today.
In a petition dated Sept 22, 25 PKR central committee members said the launch of Pakatan Harapan was not in line with the PKR central committee's decision made two days before the Pakatan Harapan roundtable.
The central committee members said they were surprised by the hasty formation, announced by PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail immediately after the roundtable discussion.
Azmin today said such petitions are "normal".
"This is the normal process. PKR is not like Umno. We are a reform party and always discuss matters which we feel are important to members and the people. We are open to democratic discussions," he said.
