Saifuddin 'crazy' for questioning show-cause letter
Former Umno supreme council member Saifuddin Abdullah is 'crazy' for questioning his show-cause letter, said party secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.
"Today he replied (to his show-cause letter) and he questioned me... We question him, and he questions us, isn't that crazy?
"But that's okay, I will send the letter to my lawyer to reply to him, and I will send it to the disciplinary board as well," he told a press conference in Kuala Lumpur today.
Saifuddin is facing possible disciplinary action after he attended an opposition round table, when Pakatan Harapan was formed.
His attendance had earned him flak from Umno leaders.
Tengku Adnan had previously told Saifuddin to join the opposition if he preferred attending their events.
Others, including Federal Territories Umno Youth chief Razlan Rafii had also asked Saifuddin to quit the party.
Tengku Adnan said he will leave it up to Umno’s disciplinary committee whether or not to sack Saifuddin from the party.
Saifuddin, who heads Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s Global Movement of Moderates, has often as a black sheep in Umno for his liberal views.
However, despite often expressing views similar to the opposition, he has maintained that he is an Umno man through and through.
