Dr Mahathir Mohamad has once again raised the theft accusation against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"If you want to give money to get support, and don't have enough to give out millions, what will you do?

"Curi lah, curi duit (steal lah, steal money)" he said, receiving a thunderous applause.

A video of the speech delivered in Tawau, Sabah, this afternoon was uploaded by blogger Din Turtle.

Mahathir who is being investigated by the police over his remarks concerning Najib during Bersih 4 is unperturbed by the prospect of being arrested.

"If you want to arrest me, arrest me, but I want to say that Najib stole money," he said.

Mahathir said this in reference to allegations that funds from 1MDB made it to Najib's personal bank accounts.

Najib and his supporters have described the RM2.6 billion as political donation from a Middle Eastern source.

The prime minister has also denied using public funds for personal gain.

However, Mahathir claims 1MDB was set up especially for Najib to plunder.

"He needs to use a lot of money. Which is why he set up 1MDB (so he can) steal 1MDB's money," he alleged.
