Jamal Md Yunos, who landed in the limelight during the Sept 16 red shirts rally, has called off the plan to hold a rally in Kajang against PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

The Sungai Besar Umno division chief is now targeting the Selangor administration under Menteri Besar Azmin Ali with regard to the dengue fever.

"We cannot sleep well because of dengue. Selangor is the highest and most glorious dengue case contributor.

"Congratulations (to the state government) for breeding Aedes mosquitoes by using (former MB) Khalid Ibrahim's funds," Jamal told reporters today outside the Ampang Jaya district police headquarters.

He said the protest would be held on Sunday afternoon, at the Spectrum mall in Bandar Baru Ampang.

Since Azmin's Bukit Antarabangsa state constituency is within the Ampang parliamentary seat, Jamal ( photo ) said, the protest is directly aimed at the menteri besar.

As for cancelling the Kajang rally, the Umno man claimed this was to allow Wan Azizah to care for her husband, former opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.

"Anwar is supposedly suffering from shoulder pain, if (Wan Azizah) has finished massaging his shoulder and manja (pampering) her husband, then we will go Kajang," he added.

Jamal has accused Wan Azizah, who is also the Kajang assemblyperson, of failing to serve the constituency.

'We are good people'

Meanwhile, Jamal said he expects thousands of people to attend the Oct 18 rally.

"After dealing with the police, we agreed to postpone the rally from Oct 11 to Oct 18.

"This is in line with Peaceful Assembly Act 2012 which requires at least 10 days notice," he said, adding they submitted their application for the rally to police today.

Asked whether they feared a repetition of the chaotic and racially-charged Sept 16 'red shirts' rally in Kuala Lumpur (photo) , Jamal said he was unperturbed.

"If there is chaos, it will all be the opposition's work. We are good people."

The Malaysia Day 'red shirts' rally had seen a a portion of the rallygoers in a standoff with riot police when their demand to enter Chinese-dominated Petaling Street was denied.

The Federal Reserve Unit had to fired water cannons against the protestors before the rallygoers eventually abandoned the area.
