Not true - Dr M, Muhyiddin and Shafie to file police reports

A Whatsapp message is circulating claiming that Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Muhyiddin Yassin, and Mohd Shafie Apdal will file separate police reports tomorrow regarding 1MDB.

However, this message has been dismissed as false.

"The Whatsapp message circulating about Muhyiddin lodging a police report is fake," read a posting on the former deputy prime minister's Facebook page.

Similarly, the aides of Mahathir and Shafie also denied that the two plan to file police reports.

According to the Whatsapp message, Mahathir was supposed to lodge a report with the Putrajaya district police headquarters, Muhyiddin at Dang Wangi, and Shafie at Brickfields.

Following this, the message claimed that the three would also go to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya to file another report following Friday prayers tomorrow.

In late July, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak had axed Muhyiddin and Shafie, who was then rural and regional development minister, from the Cabinet for being critical of 1MDB.

Last week, Mahathir also denied that he would file a police report against Najib when quizzed on the matter during an event.

"I never make any police report against anybody.

"I don't have enough evidence. I know the money is lost, but I don't know where it is," the former premier had said in reference to 1MDB.
