Less than two hundred people turned out in the Save Selangor rally orchestrated by Umno Sungai Besar Umno division chief Jamal Mohd Yunos today at the Ampang Umno headquarters.

However he refused to admit that it was a failure, saying he got the message across to at least 15 people there.

The crowd, mostly teenagers, also refused to risk spending tonight in the lockup by giving a lukewarm response when Jamal attempted to goad them to march to the Spectrum shopping mall in Ampang, the original rally starting point.

However this was cancelled as the authorities forbade the rally to be held there.

Speaking to reporters, Jamal ( photo ) sarcastically replied only 15 people attended the rally.

"Today only 15 came, I know you guys (reporters) will say only 10 came. And it would be 5,000 people if it were held at Spectrum.

"It was all over the media and the police issued permits. But two days ago the police did not allow the rally," he told reporters after the event.

Pakatan gov't gets all the blame

The event started at 3.30pm and ended about an hour later after six Umno and NGO leaders including Ampang Umno chief Ismail Kijo and Umno youth Exco Armand Azha Abu Hanifa, spoke.

The speakers blamed Pakatan government for every problem in the state such as toll hikes, rising cost of living as well as property in the state, aedes mosquito infestations, potholes on roads and flash floods.

Ismail criticised Azmin's administration over alleged broken promises to bring down the price of homes in the state.

"Before this, BN government gazetted land to build affordable houses but (under Pakatan) until now, there is none in Ampang.

"Instead the state government built 'Rumah Mampu Tengok' (unaffordable housing)," he said to the cheers of the youths.

'Tricked and fractured'

Meanwhile, Selangor PAS secretary Norman Tohs claimed that DAP had "tricked and fractured" former Pakatan ally PAS and caused infighting that had left Selangor in a bad state.

"This state has the most potholes. I had to replace my sports rims twice because I drove into potholes and damaged my car.

"Imagine if it was our children on motorcycles that hit the potholes, they would be thrown off. This is the government we have in Selangor. They are a mess," he said.

Meanwhile Arman offered Mentri Besar Azmin Ali ( photo ) to be appointed to the Ampang's Federal Village Development and Security Committee (JKKKP) so he could 'learn' about leadership.

"I want to ask for him to be appointed as a JKKKP in Ampang. If he ready doesn't know how to administrate, he should learn from the leaders at this level," he said.

Meanwhile Jamal.also promised another rally in Subang at the end of the month before the roadshow will be shift to Gombak, Azmin's constituency.

He said the movement will generate more support and traction as there are lots of people who are dissatisfied with the state government.
