Don't drag me into no-confidence vote, says Ku Li
Umno veteran Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah today denied that he would support a no-confidence vote against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak in Parliament.
He has also denied being among the BN parliamentarians seeking to topple Najib, Sinchew Daily reported in its night edition.
The report added that when Tengku Razaleigh was asked by reporters at the Parliament lobby on what would be the next step following the opposition’s tabling of the no-confidence motion, he replied,” I have nothing to do with this.
“I have no spies in there, how would I know what are they discussing? Nevertheless, I believe that they have something in mind.” he said.
Tengku Razaleigh, who is also the Gua Musang MP added that were other more pressing issues for Parliament to deal with, including the tabling of the 2016 Budget slated for Friday.
He said since the opposition’s no-confidence motion was behind a long list of other motions to be tabled, the motion may never see the light of day.
By convention, government motions are always tabled first before other motions in Parliament, meaning that private members’ bills and motions rarely make it.
