PARLIAMENT The government will answer questions about the RM2.6 billion donation received by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and other related queries during the current sitting of Parliament.

The government will also answer questions related to the alleged missing US$993 million payment from 1MDB to International Petroleum Investment Co (IPIC).

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Azalina Othman said the exact date for this would be determined later.

"This question will be answered together with similar questions at a date to be determined later, during this parliamentary session," Azalina ( photo ) said in a written reply.

She was responding to a question from Lim Guan Eng (DAP-Bagan) addressed to Najib on the source of the RM2.6 billion donation, how was it spent and how much balance is left.

Guan Eng also wanted to know who the money was spent on, if taxes were paid and if there was a formal declaration.

A question from Lim Lip Eng (DAP-Segambut) regarding the donation and the missing US$1 billion payment to IPIC also received the same reply.

Guan Eng said delaying the answers to a later date was un-parliamentary.

"This does not follow parliamentary practice. If the speaker did not reject the question it should be answered.

"Why do we have to wait, don't they have answers? I know they have answers," he said during a press conference at the parliament lobby.

He said the questions were of national importance and must be answered as soon as possible.
