PARLIAMENT Although1MDB is a state-owned firm, payments to its bosses are private and confidential, according to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

In a written reply yesterday, Najib refused to reveal the annual incentive and bonus paid to 1MDB’s chief executive officer.

He also refused to reveal the annual incentive paid to the 1MDB chairperson and directors sitting on the board.

“For your information, 1MDB falls under the Companies Act 1965, where any agreement entered into by 1MDB is private and confidential, including the employment contract between the company and its employees,” said Najib, who is also the finance minister.

He was responding to Dr Ko Chung Sen (DAP-Kampar) who asked on the payments received by all the 1MDB top guns, including the directors since 2009.

Arul Kanda is the president and group executive director, while the chairperson is Lodin Wok Kamaruddin.
