Gerakan Youth chief Tan Keng Liang does not believe that suspending DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang from Parliament is a form of punishment.

On the contrary, he said that it is more of a paid vacation.

However, Tan, who posted his response on twitter, agreed that the Gelang Patah MP should face the music for his 'shameful rant'.

"Agree. Lim should be punished for his shameful rant but the suspension actually gave him six months holiday, plus 'gaji buta' (free income). Punishment?" he tweeted.

In an earlier tweet, Tan said: "You fools just gave Lim six months of holiday plus gaji buta."

Lim was suspended for refusing to apologise over his remarks, which were deemed as insulting Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia.

The veteran politician, however, maintained that he did not intend to demean the speaker with his comments concerning the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) and its probe into 1MDB.

Prior to tweeting on the suspension, Tan also shared his views on the motion of no-confidence against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"No-confidence motion by opposition chief (Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail) against PM... Since when any opposition has confidence in the government or PM? Silly motion!

"Malaysia's biggest problem is overdosed politics. Due to refusal of opposition Pakatan to accept defeat in GE13 after rejection by Malaysians," he tweeted.
