A police report has been made on the dissemination of false information about the health of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, which has gone viral on social media.

Brickfields district police chief ACP Sharul Othman Mansor said the report was received from the Istana Negara security at about 1am today.

"We will leave it to the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) for further action," he said when contacted by Bernama today.

In addition to false information on his health, two photographs were circulated which were said to have been taken in front of the Istana Negara royal wing, showing vehicles belonging to the palace, as well as an ambulance.

In the meantime, Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja Awang Kechik Abdul Rahman, in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today, said Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu'adzam Shah, 88, had left for IJN at 10.30pm last night to undergo a scheduled medical check-up.

"His Majesty is resting and is expected to resume duty soon," he said, adding that the King had gone in his official vehicle.

He said Tuanku Abdul Halim and Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanku Haminah were also deeply touched and expressed their appreciation to all Malaysians for praying for his health and well-being.
