'Where is RM2.6b?' placards emerge after PM ends speech
Odin Tajué:
Where is the RM2.6 billion? Easy. RM200 million was used to induce the people, especially Penangites, to vote for the BN at the GE13, and distributed to the contesting Umno leaders to fund their campaigns (including hiring of crowds and thugs), and to the non-contesting ones to buy their loyalty.
The balance of RM2.4 billion was transferred to the yellow-blooded warrior's private bank account in Singapore. Last we hear, the account has been frozen.
MA: You can see the true colours of those PAS members who did not stand up with the ‘Mana RM2.6 billion?’ placards.
Aren't they any different from the Umno members sitting in the House?
Swipenter: This is a simple yet very effective way to convey the message to Bolehland and the world.
MA, I concur with you. We have to watch these PAS MPs. They can jump to the dark side. Worldly temptations to them is juicer than godly rewards in the future.
Anonymous 560221439180274: The opposition members were not listening to the Budget 2016 speech by the PM, but was more interested on when the PM would complete his speech, so that they could display the placards in unison.
This is the kind of Yang Berhormats we have elected to represent the rakyat. They are paid to play childish game in Parliament.
The Analyser: Yes, what an excellent strategy on the part of the opposition. Do they really think they will embarrass the arrogant and thick-skinned PM to come clean on his financial manipulation?
Or are they so desperate for new ideas that all they can do is embarrass themselves by behaving like spoilt brats.
Before we know it, the ineffectual opposition will be starting brawls in Parliament just like those in the Japanese Diet so they can more widely demonstrate their insignificance.
FellowMalaysian: I am sure that deep down the veins of ministers Hishammuddin Hussein and Azalina Othman Said, they realised that the opposition's displaying the 'Mana RM2.6 billion?' placards right after Najib Razak's Budget announcement was not childish at all.
It was a last-ditch and desperate attempt by Pakatan Harapan MPs in yet another of its indefatigable effort to get the ruling government to provide some plausible answers to the doubts and controversies surrounding Najib's infamous donations which he claimed came from a very generous Arab sheikh.
Perhaps if Azalina finds the conduct of these MPs in the august House not to her liking, she should bring it to the ears of the speaker come Monday and send the entire 'disrespectful' lot out of Parliament House.
Anonymous_1375693422: Oh, please be childish and say the obvious truth. We have so many leaders who are so clever in saying things as well as twisting other people's words, including the rulers', so as to hide and distract from the truth.
And our Great Pretender of a PM continues to behave as if he has done nothing wrong. We need to behave like the child who says the emperor is naked and, oh, so utterly shameless.
Odysseus: This action is definitely not childish. This is a creative way to convey the message loud and clear to the recipient of the huge donation to be accountable for it.
Until today, Najib has not satisfactorily explained where the money came from and how it was spent. The rakyat wants to know who benefitted from it.
GE14NOW!: It’s better to be childish than be a thief or a thug. Better to be innocent like a child than be a full-grown adult who plunders the country to enrich oneself.
Oh Ya?: Isn't it more childish to claim the RM2.6 billion was a donation and the mysterious donor has still not come forward to corroborate it?
Parliament not a circus, minister raps placard jibe
StrainingGnats, SwallowCamels: Communications and Multimedia Minister Salleh Said Keruak, the placards questioning the whereabouts of the RM2.6 billion is neither a protest nor is it childish.
The august House and the people of Malaysia have already been bludgeoned with odious insults when MPs refused to seek answers to honest questions regarding 1MDB and its financial operations.
Asking questions as responsible representatives of the rakyat is not an insult - it is asking for those responsible to account for the people's missing money. Indeed, not asking is an insult.
Love God N Do Gd: I'm afraid the one who is involved in the RM2.6 billion scandal has turned the Parliament into a circus.
He has been repeatedly avoiding to answer questions on where the RM2.6 billion has gone. If he has been open and sincere in answering the public, this wouldn't have happened.
Freethinker: With the House speaker stopping all questions on 1MDB and the ‘donation’ found in the PM’s account, where else can the people go?
If you ask the same question outside Parliament, you could be arrested under the Sedition Act or worse still, Sosma.
Pray tell, where else can the people ask such questions for answers?
