MPs should not be ‘sitting ducks’ like Nik Abduh

YOURSAY | 'Rakyat voted you into Parliament to voice against unfairness, corruption...'

Nik Abduh: I protested Budget 2016 while sitting down

Anonymous #33227154: What a feeble excuse. This proves that Pasir Mas MP Nik Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz and PAS are traitors. In the end, PAS has succumbed to corrupt money and power.

Nik Abduh's father Tok Guru (Nik Aziz Nik Mat) would be so ashamed of his son if he were alive.

Hcleong: The rakyat voted you into Parliament to be their representative to voice against unfairness, corruption, daylight robbery and siphoning of public funds through 'donation' schemes.

You need to express our anger, our frustration, and our non-acceptance of a corrupt leader to helm the nation. If all MPs are like you being sitting ducks, it would give the impression you are happy with what is happening.

If I am a Pasir Mas constituent, I would vote for someone else, not you.

TheAnonymous: This is stupid. How the hell would the person on the other end know you're protesting if you don't show any sign?

Done: If you can't even perform a simple gesture such as standing up to protest, what good of you? Yes, I am sitting there and keeping quiet, but spiritually I protest. What a stupidest answer ever.

Odysseus: I, too, am also protesting by sleeping at home. Can I have your allowance as MP?

James_3392: Maybe the budget is too complex a subject for Nik Abduh to understand, so it is hard to protest. Perhaps if it was about covering up one's aurat, he could have stood up.

Anonymous #59879079: You have been given a brain and a mouth, but you chose not to use them.

You might as well give them up since they are of no use to you. Or are you waiting for divine instructions (your usual excuse)?

You are given a nose to breathe too, I advise you stop using it.

Ib: How not to lose face with leaders who have no courage to stand up for what is right?

Worse, they are shameless to say afterwards, I thought so but I did not stand up.

Hamzah Paiman: You'd better not stand up and protest, Nik Abduh, because your president Abdul Hadi Awang and Umno will be annoyed.

You should not protest because PAS under the new team has accepted Umno and corruption is the only way to govern.

Forget about religious principles, as they are just for the votes. Forget about what your father stood for also.

Justine Gow: What can one expect from those close to Abdul Hadi? Abdul Hadi's intimacy with the Bugis warrior is publicly recorded. Remember the photo in which they were happily embracing each other?

Wsoi: This just shows Parti Amanah the need to please speed up its work. If you can't convince the rural folks, your role will be further diminished.

There is no need to convince your urban supporters, but put into action a comprehensive programme to convince rural Malays of a better future by supporting you.

Don't just talk, you must show people how you can improve their standard of living.

Johnjames: BN is facing a tough challenge from the opposition in the coming weeks during the debate on Budget 2016.

The approval of this budget from a majority of members of parliament is the main concern. This will depend on the wisdom of lawmakers.

Myop101: Whatever it is, the key here in the end is the vote. When the vote is called, how many of them will oppose the Budget instead of abstaining?

Headhunter: This is one more reason why PAS cannot be trusted.

Eagle: He didn't know which side of placard is up, so it was better not to hold one. He thinks that little goatee of his will give him intelligence.

Unspin: We should give Nik Abduh a break. I don't think he has the faculty to understand the Budget and its implications.

He might not even appreciate how much RM2.6 billion is. For that matter, most of these PAS ulamas probably could not understand Economics 101.
