PAS was today told to make its stand clear as to whether the Islamic party wanted to work with BN or topple it.

This is to prevent a major act of dishonesty to PAS supporters, said Abdul Khalid Samad (Amanah-Shah Alam).

"It is very confusing now. PAS once said it will be with the opposition to topple BN and now suddenly it wants to work with BN," he told reporters at the Parliament's lobby.

PAS should lay its cards on the table so there is no riddle, said Khalid, who is also the Amanah whip.

"Whether they want to go it alone or with BN, we ask them to make their intentions clear so that the rakyat will not be disappointed.

"If the rakyat votes for them with a hope that they will go against BN, only to find out they want to be with BN after victory, (the rak yat will be disappointed)," he said.

"I am not saying it's right or wrong but do make your stand clear," he said.

According to Khalid (photo) , it would not be fair to the rakyat if PAS 'played both sides'.

Earlier today, PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang had announced a new approach to be taken by the Islamic party whereby it may choose to work with any party for good aims.

He also said PAS would even meet with Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak on public issues though it will not form a unity government with Umno.

He also said PAS could stand alone without the need to join the Pakatan Harapan coalition.
