Zahid mounting silent battle against Muhyiddin

YOURSAY | ‘Don't leave Umno, Muhyiddin. Your day will come. Stay strong.’

Zahid says those who don't back Najib can leave Umno

GE14NOW!: It is very clear that Umno leaders only value money. He who has the money is able to pull the necessary strings.

The Umno that party deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin claims to love and serve has morphed into a monster - one that is power-hungry and it will devour anyone in its way, or conversely spit them out if the devoured are found to be unsavoury.

The time for such hypocritical, destructive leadership is over and those who really love the country should get rid of these evil despots who talk of being ready for war to defend an imagined insult and who plunder the country wholesale.

If not through the no-confidence vote, then it will be through GE14. Whichever way, this corrupt, gangrenous cancer must be excised and thrown into the dung heap of politics - and even that would be too kind to this lot.

Anonymous 122461436161429: So DPM Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is saying all those who support theft and corruption should stay in Umno and all those who don't, to leave. What wonderful advice from a DPM, no less.

Anonymous 2358311441466692: It is like saying that those who don't like government policies can give up their citizenship and leave the country.

You must be dreaming that you live in a fiefdom and not a modern democracy.

Boonpou: My dream is to come across this man at a conference or forum outside of Malaysia. You have no idea how easily I can put him to shame, to the point he wishes he was never born.

It looks like Umno has not hit its lowest point but surely it is only going to rot further with such an arrogant, imbecile (member) as one of its leaders.

Would someone care to point to me when was the last time this man said anything reasonable or smart?

Surely, there are many in Umno who are totally embarrassed by this imbecile.

Mojo Jojo: Oh, Umno is now a Sendirian Berhad, is it? Since you have ample time issuing non-sequitur statements, why not do something more constructive, like bugging your compatriots across the straits in finding a solution to our smog problem.

Kingfisher: Zahid is right in his logic. Dissent from within is the first line of battle for any dignified contestant whose genuine aim is to right the wrongs of his party and its predominant leadership.

If the in-house strife does not work in one's favour after a decent period of time, the decent thing to do is to relinquish one's association from the party and do battle from the outside.

But remember the words of a sage: it takes 10 times more resources and efforts to confront and defeat those inside a 'fortress' from the outside than to confront and defeat them while still inside.

Another wisdom worth recognising as a strategy - in party conflict, it is better to keep an opponent inside a tent with him pissing outside rather than to keep him out and him pissing into the tent.

Victor Johan: So going by his logic, what Zahid is saying is that during party elections in Umno, and when the president's post is challenged, those who support to vote for the challenger are deemed not supportive of the incumbent president, and so they should leave the party together with the challenger.

How stupid can Zahid get with his overzealous support of Najib?

Goldee: All party members have the same right as the president. Don't forget that leaders are elected by members, so don't belittle them.

You are there because of their support. You are a nobody if you lose their support. Don't be ‘bodoh sombong’.

Kawak: The PM, DPM and ministers should benchmark themselves with cabinet ministers like Singapore in terms of integrity, intelligence, knowledge and capability in running a government in a transparent and accountable manner.

We Malaysians would not be proud of our leaders if they are corrupt, abuse power, incompetent, 'bodoh sombong' and racists.

FellowMalaysian: Zahid said those who think they can do a better job than Najib are welcome to leave the party.

A person who is confident of his head honcho's power and influence would say that these people are welcome to challenge the head honcho and the party's recent resolution will be amended soon to allow such a contest to take place.

I guess Zahid finds himself precariously positioned on shaky ground as well.

Anonymous_1391693662: Zahid, Najib doesn't own Umno. He is member of Umno and an elected vice-president. People have a right to go against the president if they feel he is doing wrong.

So it’s the duty of the president to prove otherwise. As a DPM, you are talking like an idiot in asking people to leave Umno if they are against the president.

PMO: Obviously, Zahid wants party deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin to leave Umno because Muhyiddin is No 2 in Umno, while Zahid is No 3.

Hang Jebat: Don't leave Umno, Muhyiddin. Your day will come. Stay strong. Keep digging at the roots. The tree will eventually fall.
