Nazri rubbishes Jamal's anti-Muhyiddin plot as 'nothing'
Umno supreme council member Nazri Abdul Aziz has rubbished Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos and his alleged plot to get rid of party deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin.
"That's his opinion, he is not an important person.
"If you want to ask (me questions), ask about outsiders commenting on our country or the opposition leader, this is nothing," he told a press conference in the parliament lobby today.
He was responding to claims by Jamal that over 100 Umno division leaders and counting are supporting a motion to sack Muhyiddin as Umno deputy president.
This is over Muhyiddin's continued criticisms against 1MDB and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's leadership.
Nazri however said Muhyiddin was free to speak his mind
"It's a free country man, come on," he said when asked if Muhyiddin should stop speaking up.
Muhyiddin was dropped from the Cabinet last July together with another 1MDB critic Mohd Shafie Apdal.
Last Saturday, Muhyiddin had released his strongest statement yet, calling Umno leaders cowards for not speaking up in a time of national crisis.
