It’s Najib who should take a break, not Muhyiddin

YOURSAY | ‘He should let PAC to carry out its job without interference.’

Take a break, Muhyiddin, for Umno's sake’

Vijay47: Amin Yatim, having half the name that Rais Yatim has does not augur well for you nor does it bring any assurance of reasonable wit or sense.

Like most Umno leaders, Amin, you conveniently overlook the obvious.

The one who created all of Umno's present woes and is the star of the 1MDB scandal is the president himself.

It is he who should step aside to allow investigation into the many instances of allegedly brazen theft, and his continued presence in the party remains the albatross around Umno's neck.

In some effort to impress us, you quote from Umno's constitution on the role of the deputy president in chairing meetings.

Try as I might, I am unable to see in Article 9.8.2 any suggestion that the deputy is barred from commenting on illegal activities by party leaders. One would have thought that Umno would demand it.

All in all, Amin, the intelligence you reflect merely qualifies you to join Najib's legal team in his threatened suit against The Wall Street Journal .

Mosquitobrain: MyKMU , it is hopeless to defend the indefensible. Why not instead tell your president to take a break and let Public Accounts Committee (PAC) carry out its job without interference?

Anonymous #70881335: We live in a very strange society. The person under scrutiny is allowed to continue to do his job, while the person who seeks answers, has lost his job and is asked to leave. Funny.

Zero tolerance, vendettas reign in Umno now

CQ Muar: This is a timely advice from a former minister with the interest of the nation at heart. It’s a reminder what the present leaders ought to do before further damage is caused to the nation.

The present leadership is virtually dragging the country down with its ongoing "war" against dissidents, and those who speak out against wrongdoings.

Instead of heeding their cries and amend where necessary for the betterment of the future of this country, the government is adding salt to injury by cracking down on anyone deemed as "anti-government".

At the end of the day, where will this lead and to whose advantage? Bravo, former minister Rafidah Aziz for jolting those idle minds.

XED: She is a discredited politician who had long been a part of an evil, corrupt and oppressive regime, and, now having been forced out, is bleating about good governance, integrity, transparency, and national interest. Too late!

Having made a fortune, will she now declare that she will not accept bumiputera privileges so that the deserving ones will have a better chance?

Roger 5201: Does Rafidah realise asking Umno to deal with 1MDB issues objectively, transparently and with integrity is akin to asking PM Najib Razak's resignation.

Kingfisher: It is sad and troubling to hear former national leaders speak with so much concern regarding the decline in present-day values about basic obligations and responsibilities of political parties, their rank and file and especially the party leadership.

The real world truth is when wealth without work becomes the cancerous agent for gaining and retaining power and when corruptly received wealth erodes and distorts one's sense of righteousness, the decay of a culture is difficult to arrest.

Dont Just Talk: Questioning the PM over the RM2.6 billion wired into his personal account means putting one's head on the chopping block, to the extent of being arrested and detained, with the fate of seven Umno Baru senior leaders handing in the balance.

For those who support Najib, like the man who ‘ met ’ with the rich Arab donor (who confirmed the donation supposedly intended to help Umno remain in power), it means instant promotion to DPM.

The Mask: The crux of the problem is Najib, and the solution is also Najib.

To add to this are the morons who blindly support a PM who cannot and would not answer simple questions, but allow his underlings to say all the "hurtful words", but he himself remains clean.

They are really stupid underlings, and failed to read his game plan.

Anticonmen: Rafidah, you were part of the leadership gang who denied, sidelined, marginalised and cheated the other races,

Now, you feel cheated by your own ‘ketuanan’ members? You reap what you sowed.

The greedy always end up fighting and destroying one another. A nation that does not treat all its citizens as equal is doomed to failure.
