1MDB chief executive Arul Kanda Kandasamy will appear before the Public Accounts Committee on Dec 1.

PAC chief Hasan Arifin, who revealed this today, added that former 1MDB CEO Shahrol Halmi has also been summoned to testify and will do so on Nov 25

"Arul is on Dec 1 and Shahrol the week before that," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby.

He said a letter summoning them had been sent to the Finance Ministry.

He refused to disclose what documents the duo would be required to bring along with them.

Business tycoon Jho Low, however, has not been summoned as yet.

On Monday, Hasan told the media that Arul Kanda and Shahrol would be called as part of the PAC probe into 1MDB probe but no date had been set yet.

Arul and Shahrol were initially summoned by the PAC to testify on May 26.

However, the Finance Ministry, which owns 1MDB, told the PAC that the duo could not testify as they would be abroad and then asked for a 30-day extension.

This left former PAC chief Nur Jazlan fuming as he said the duo was given ' ample ' notice.

Subsequently, the PAC set the first week of August for the duo to testify before the committee.

However, Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak then co-opted four members of the PAC including Nur Jazlan into the government, rendering the PAC unable to function.

After some three months on ice, Hasan, the Rompin MP, was appointed as the new PAC chief and the vacant seats in the committee were also filled.

Following this, the PAC is now re-commencing its probe into 1MDB which is struggling to repay its US$11 billion debt amid claims of misappropriation.
