YOURSAY | ‘This is a country that orders death for drug traffickers and raises tax on tobacco.’
Minister tells Health DG controlling vape will kill business
Turvy:
Here is a country that orders death for drug traffickers and raises tax on tobacco saying it is dangerous to health, printing horrible pictures of dead human embryos to discourage smoking.
Now one of the goons in the cabinet of the government of the same country champions vape, something which is new and controversial as far as its health status is concerned.
Why? Because, the vape business is run by Malays.
You can forgive, even sympathise with those deprived of education. But with a man like this, educated and still stupid, there is only one thing to do - vote him out.
But that won’t happen. Fools will reign and the country will remain in ruins we find it now.
Caring Citizen : From the way how Rural and Regional Development Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob defends the selling and production of vapes, I can deduce is he has received a lot of ‘donations’ - I really mean a lot - from those young and creative Malays.
And since he gets so much ‘donations’, he has to keep his promises to the young creative Malays to ensure they have the rights to sell them.
Otherwise, I have no other reasonable explanation as to why a minister is so supportive to sell a product that is harmful to one’s health.
Wg321: Ismail Sabri said that he wanted to see Malaysia vape products to be world renowned and showcases the creativity of young Malays.
He thinks that making e-liquid is not more than filling “fruit juices” into small bottles.
For his information, those ‘Cina babi’ from China has captured the world market for e-cigarette and related products such as e-liquid, batteries, etc, over the past 10 years.
It is a high-tech multi-million-dollar industry employing thousands of workers in China. Watch this video .
Negarawan: "This will surely kill the vape business which is owned mostly by young Malays," said Ismail Sabri.
Ismail Sabri is trying to politicise the vape issue by citing that it will affect Malay businessmen. Vaping is a serious health issue that affects all Malaysians, especially our youth who are the future of the country.
If Ismail Sabri cannot see beyond his narrow political and racist agenda, he should resign immediately as he is not fit to be a minister.
Nobrain: What is Ismail Sabri saying? If nicotine is classified as poison by the government, then he as minister should follow the ruling that all products with nicotine can only be sold by licensed pharmacists and registered medical practitioners.
Just because Malays are involved in this business, the government should allow it? This is like giving licences to the Malays to sell harmful drugs.
Ammy: There is a need for the vaping industry to be regulated urgently as it will soon be use to smoke drugs openly.
There are already portable marijuana vaporisers being sold in the United States and soon we will be having it here, too.
Sa Tombs: My two sen worth - please encourage the bumiputeras to continue to smoking vape.
The young entrepreneurs will then make billions and trillions (just like 1MDB) while the rest of them will die of nicotine-related diseases.
KJ: Health Ministry jumped the gun in anti-vape raids
Nehru: Sports and Youth Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, please respect the MOH (Ministry of Health) guidelines and enough of breaking the laws.
Anonymous_1430119660: What was raided was "vape fluids that contain nicotine ... on grounds that nicotine is regulated under the Poisons Act 1952 (revision 1989) and Food Act 1983, those who manufacture, distribute, sell it needs to be licensed".
Khairy, why are you protecting these law dodgers. Let the Health Minister Dr S Subramaniam do what his ministry has to do to protect the people.
Retnam: Arrest and charge the health minister under the Sedition Act for undermining parliamentary democracy because, according to Khairy, Dr Subra has failed to respect the cabinet decision.
