Malaysian leaders have condemned the terrorist attacks unleashed upon Paris last night.
Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak on his Facebook expressed his condolences and called on all to unite against the war against terrorists.
"Malaysia condemns the outrageous multiple terror attacks in Paris today on innocent civilians.
"Our thoughts and prayers are with the victims, citizens of France and President François Hollande.
"I am shocked with what happened in Paris but we must remain united in the war against terrorism," wrote Najib on Facebook this morning.
Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail called the acts that have left over a hundred dead "barbaric".
"The news of multiple attacks on a restaurant, theatre and stadium in Paris [...] comes as a total shock to the world.
"These simultaneous attacks are barbaric and meant to instill fear and terror in the hearts of all.
"I wholeheartedly condemn these attacks, and pray that those behind it are immediately apprehended and brought to justice," said Wan Azizah, who is also PKR president.
"On behalf of the opposition in the Malaysian Parliament and PKR, I wish to convey our deepest condolences to the family of all those killed in these attacks.
"We stand in solidarity with the people of France in facing these difficult times," she said in a statement this morning.
'Zero tolerance for terror'
In decrying the attack, Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and says Malaysia does not condone or tolerate any form of terrorism, whether at home or overseas.
"Malaysia has zero tolerance for terrorism - whether domestically or abroad - and we will ensure that we will do our part to enforce this promise," said Zahid, who is also home minister, as reported by Bernama .
Muslim NGO Ikram also condemned the horrendous act and hoped the individuals or group responsible will be brought to justice.
“This act of terrorism shows a complete disrespect for human life.
“IKRAM would like to invite the people of Malaysia to show support and convey our deepest sympathies and condolences to the families affected, the people, and the government of France,” its president Mohd Parid Sheikh Ahmad said in a statement.
The terrorist attacks have claimed at least 120 lives , according to reports.
