Husam in the dark over Nov 24 hearing

Former PAS vice-president Husam Musa requested the party to postpone the meeting with the central working committee slated for Nov 24 to explain his allegation against the party president.

He said while he is ready to answer to the party working committee, he is now in China for medical treatment and may not be back in Malaysia in time due to the short notice.

In a statement today, the Salor assemblyperson said he has not received any notice from the party although its secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan mentioned that it has been sent to him.

"I left Malaysia on Nov 14. To date, I didn't receive any letter. I am currently in China, but if the notice was sent, I am still contactable through SMS, WhatsApp, or email.

"But I wasn't contacted through any of these methods."

Takiyuddin had confirmed that the party had called up Husam to explain his allegation that party president Abdul Hadi Awang had wanted to work with Umno to establish a unity government in Selangor.

Husam will have to appear before the hearing to be chaired by Hadi on Nov 24.

PAS has also banned the debate between its election director Mustafa Ali and Husam over the latter's claim that there had been talks of a merger between PAS and Umno even from 2008.

However, Husam questioned the short notice for calling him up to explain to the central working committee.

He added that his original plan was to return home on Nov 22 but he may have to prolong his stay by a few more days if advised by his doctor.

Thus, he asked the secretary-general to postpone the meeting for at least one more week so that he can have ample time to prepare.

Husam also questioned the banning of his debate with party election director Mustafa Ali, which, for him, indicates there is something to hide.

He said the cancellation also showed a lack of co-ordination in the party leadership because Mustafa, who is a member of the working committee, had initially agreed to the debate.

"Didn't Mustafa refer his decision to the leadership first? Or is his agreement merely a charade?" he asked.
