The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) is dissatisfied with the government's financial management following the release of the third auditor-general's report for 2014.

"Overall we are less than satisfied with the financial management and accountability at government and federal agencies, which have dropped in performance," PAC chief Hasan Arifin said at a press conference in Parliament today.

He said the committee is planning on summoning seven ministries over six issues highlighted in the audit report.

They are the Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Ministry over ST15 rice; the Rural and Regional Development Ministry over the socio-economic development of the Orang Asli; and the Education Ministry over the construction of Islamic schools and other facilities in Sarawak.

Also being summoned are the Works and Health Ministries over upgrades to the Sultanah Nora Ismail hospital in Batu Pahat; the Home Ministry over the management of the National Anti-Drug Agency quarters; and the Defence Ministry over the construction of the Putrajaya National Defence Study Centre (Puspahanas).

"We will summon the chief secretaries," Hasan said.

He added the ministries would be called in starting February next year.

"We will finish the 1MDB probe first," he said.

The PAC will be calling former 1MDB CEO Shahrol Halmi this Wednesday , and the firm's current boss Arul Kanda Kandasamy on Dec 1 .
