Perkasa chief is livid with Bersih chairperson Maria Chin Abdullah, for allegedly telling US President Barack Obama that Perkasa is an extremist group.

He was so incensed that he labelled the election watchdog leader a “ perempuan sial ” (damned woman).

“Maria Chin purportedly said the government allowed extremism in the form of Perkasa, and that the government allegedly did not take action against an extremist NGO.

“How does she know this? She’s asking for me to call her perempuan sial ,” he said at a press conference at the Perkasa headquarters in Kuala Lumpur

Ibrahim vehemently denied that Perkasa is an extremist group, and claimed that Bersih is even more extreme because it rallied tens of thousands of people to go to the streets.

When contacted, Maria (picture) said: "I don't want to comment."

Utusan Malaysia earlier reported that civil society members who met with Obama during his visit last week were spewing untruths about the country to the US president.

According to Ibrahim, the meeting between Obama and the civil society members was a psychological game against Malaysia.

"The United States sees that Malaysia has issues so they use it.

"They have a list of anti-government NGOs so (Obama) meets them to scare the Malaysian government," he said.

He also questioned why Obama only met with "anti-government NGOs" and not the many more organisations in Malaysia.

"If the United States really champions democracy, it should have invited all sorts of NGO.

"Why not invite Angkatan Belia Islam (Abim) and Ikatan Muslim Malaysia (Isma)," he said.

"I wouldn't be keen even if Perkasa was invited, but the issue is, why so selective?"
