Bank Negara Malaysia has not had any 'direct communication' with the two 1MDB-linked executives wanted by the central bank to assist in their 1MDB probe, said governor Zeti Akhtar Aziz.

"We have not had any direct communication with them yet," she said in Sasana Kijang, Kuala Lumpur today.when asked by reporters on the status of the two wanted executives.

She was there to officiate the Leadership Energy Summit Asia 2015 event.

She did not elaborate further on the two wanted executives.

BNM in July circulated a “wanted” poster requesting the public to assist in its probe on 1MDB under the Exchange Control Act 1953.

It sought assistance to locate Casey Tang, 50, and Jasmine Loo, 42.

Tang is a former 1MDB executive director, alleged to have worked with tycoon Jho Low while Loo joined 1MDB in 2011 to replace Tang.

Bank Negara was previously investigating 1MDB under the Exchange Control Act 1953 (ECA).

They had then submitted their investigation papers to the attorney-general's chambers, which refused to prosecute the case.

According to the Attorney-General Mohamed Apandi Ali, 1MDB could not be faulted for the alleged offence if Bank Negara did not seek the clarifications it needed.

Zeti later defended Bank Negara's probe into 1MDB, saying that they did not make any mistake in their investigations.

Bank Negara insisted that 1MDB provided inaccurate or incomplete information in three transactions amounting to US$1.83 billion.
