UMNO AGM Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has been chosen by Allah to be the sixth prime minister of this nation, said Umno lawmaker Othman Aziz.

"I want to tell you that not everyone can be prime minister. There is only one, because Allah chose him and he is the chosen one," the Jerlun MP told the Umno general assembly.

"That is why the prime minister is attacked left and right, from the back and front, top to bottom," he said.

Othman is also the Jerlun Umno division vice-chief.

The division is helmed by Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir, whose father and former Umno president Dr Mahathir Mohamad is on a campaign to oust Najib.

"If we (were attacked), we would have run away," said Othman.

"But Najib has powerful professional management skill, he has the management tools, this is his way. So I want to tell you, don't ever try to think like the prime minister," he said.

He urged Umno members to develop a sense of belonging and give their help to work with Najib, as the latter cannot work all by himself in a huge party.
