YOURSAY | 'A fresh, exciting relationship... But fused by false attraction and calculative motives, it won't last.'

PAS-Umno pact fraught with issues, far from settled

Doc: Frankly, I think that it has been obvious for some time that PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang is keen for an alliance with Umno. This does not mean that all in PAS are keen for this alliance. Umno has been PAS' traditional enemy for decades.

If Hadi pushes strongly for an alliance with Umno, we may see further fractures in PAS and many more PAS members, MPs and state assemblypersons will probably jump ship to Amanah or PKR, seeing that PAS has lost it focus, and allying with the devil in Umno.

PAS may lose massive Malay support for two reasons: (1)There are viable alternatives to PAS to champion the Malay agenda (not necessarily the Islamic agenda), like Amanah and PKR.

(2) It is no secret that Malays despise Najib and Umno for destroying the economy for personal gain, thus adding more and more to their growing hardship in these trying times.

Malays will vent their anger against Umno come election time by voting Anything But Umno. If PAS is with Umno come the election, it may lose votes because of it aligned with Umno.

Martha: Honestly, we just don't care. Go and bond yourselves, it will be a dream come true. Now back to PKR and its deputy president Azmin Ali, what's your take?

Time is running short, so make up your mind. You can't possibly have one leg in one ‘perahu’ (boat) and the other in another ‘perahu’. Chances are you'll drown.

Headhunter: Is it for Malay unity or is it a conspiracy to plunder the nation further? So far, it's all plundering and deceit. Not all PAS members will believe it is a holy union.

Appum: My view is, it will be like PKR married to PAS, a dainty dame outwardly - but a witch inside, which PKR refuses to admit, being a mesmerised husband.

Now, a rich kid on the block, Umno, has appeared to woo PAS in order to survive. PAS, the cunning lady in disguise, plays the wooing game, goes to bed with PKR. It makes more demands and makes PKR shake with fear that the wife is flirting with the new kid on the block.

This is what we see in a love triangle. Lady PAS is also bored with PKR, and being not accepted and despised by PKR's relatives (DAP), is playing the double game of forced sleeping with husband but flirting with new kid Umno at the same time.

In such a triangle, we usually see that the lady will end up with the new kid and drop the boring husband. A new, fresh, exciting relationship is formed, called ‘Pasno’.

Because such relationships are fused by lust, false attraction and calculative causes, it will never last. It's a question of who will stab whose back first, after the excitement has worn off. The rich kid or the witch?

Roger 5201: What spirit of hudud accepts RM2.6 billion in secret, unaccounted donations from an Arab friend?

We are concerned: The union or pact may come because Umno is weak but once Umno regains strength PAS, may be pushed out again but this time to the woods and never to come out again.

PAS has no choice in this because of the failed Pakatan Rakyat pact. It just has to take chances, hoping Umno will remain faithful.

Anonymous_1372130686: In essence, it's about certain people in PAS and Umno with their own agenda - one trying to use the other to further its own cause.

MCA remains coy on NSC bill on eve of senators' debate

Clongviews: MCA cannot influence any changes now. At cabinet level, it can't even get it postponed, although MCA Youth chief Chong Sin Woon claimed that it was raised.

What is the point of MCA senators if they can only put up a show and would not dare risk their positions by voting against the National Security Council Bill?

Nehru: BN members are handing over the country and sole power to the prime minister, which gives him power to rule as chief and apply rule by dictatorship.

Saya pun nak cari makan: Chong, do you truly believe in National Security Council? Or are you going to go along Umno's intention so as to preserve your deputy minister’s post?

If it is for the latter that you voted for the NSC Bill, you are truly very cheap, selling your principles for just a small post. No big deal, even though it might be a deputy minister's post. A beggar has more honour than a man who sells his principles.

Free and Fair Election: MCA has no guts to stand against it.

Restless: MCA should know by now why all Chinese are running away from it. The party can't even stand up on a vaguely worded piece of legislation that gives arbitrary powers to one person.

A legislation that will change the whole political landscape and the progressiveness of a nation, which will affect the future of all generations. MCA's stance/cowardice is definitely not a representation of Chinese traditional values.

What a shame. Indeed MCA has successfully reduced Malaysian Chinese to nothing, despite their contributions.

SusahKes: Coy? Maybe they're thinking how they might be able to blame DAP for this one too.

Headhunter: Don't bank on MCA. It is a lost cause.

Send in the clowns: Not need to wait. The outcome is obvious. The MCA will vote along with Umno. I will drop my pants if their members vote otherwise.

FellowMalaysian: Not that it matters, but I can assure anyone that none of the 11 MCA senators will dare to oppose the NSC Bill today.

Iiiizzzziiii: Just one or two questions which I would like to ask.

If the government has decided to declare a state as a security area, who is the ultimate authority if that state has a sultan, and if the sultan objects to this move by the government, how will it be resolved?

Old timer: MCA, hear this. If you support the NSC Bill, you not only completely sell the interest of the Chinese, but also the interest of all the Malaysians. Let the guilt be on you forever.

YF: MCA is Umno with yellow skin. So what's the difference? No wonder nobody supports MCA these days. Same applies to Umno.
