Seeing crosses everywhere, even on rooftops

YOURSAY | ‘Only the foolish look for signs of Christianity in every little detail in life.’

Council to meet developer over cross-like rooftop structures

Anonymous$&@?: Over 50 years of Islamic indoctrination under Umno has turned certain portions of the rakyat into a breed of Muslims who see forms and shapes that seem to be against their religion.

Their eyes can also purportedly see the word ‘Allah’ (PBUH) in designs that are too small for the naked eyes in everyday objects like tiles, in product designs labels and almost anything they have the free time to look at (and now on rooftops too).

These people should open their eyes - to see corruption, abuse of power and the decline in morality among the Muslim youths that plague the Malay race today.

Chipmunk: Are Muslims so weak that anything that looks like a cross will affect their faith in Islam?

This sounds like more of a political agenda by Umno to garner support from the Malays. I really find this absurd and crazy that Muslims can be easily threatened.

Apapunboleh: Yes, someone is seeking to score political brownies points... nothing else.

Many link houses in Klang Valley were designed with the air wells and concrete partitions painted in white. I don't understand why the sudden sensitivity.

Kangkung: I couldn't believe it when I read this piece. I had to remind myself that April Fools' day is over.

How wonderful to end this year by witnessing how moronic these people are. I hope international news agencies will feature this piece of news so that the world knows what idiots we have this in country.

Mojo Jojo: I can list other things that are perhaps more "distasteful" than houses with white crosses on their roofs.

How about the location of the US$850 million that went into the account of an unknown Cayman Island entity last year?

Unafraid: If their faith is strong, how can a mere semblance of a cross threaten them?

Clearly, they are not certain what they believe in that such an innocuous sign on the rooftop can shake their belief system.

I hope they do not speak for the rest of their followers because if they do, then they are to be most pitied.

They are making a mockery and a fool of themselves and subjecting their noble religion to open ridicule by the thinking sensible world.

Why not remove crossroads, crossword puzzles and the letter 't' from ‘tuan’? So much for ‘ketuanan Melayu’.

Anonymous #44199885: Only the foolish will see a cross in everything and look for signs of Christianity in every little detail in life.

Has our society become so obsessed with it that they feel threatened by Christians who, believe it or not, are Malaysians too.

That a majority feel threatened by a law-abiding minority is truly unfathomable.

In this, only the HRH the Sultan of Johor Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar has shown leadership where BN has failed and continues to fail the people by not voicing out against religious extremism.

P Dev Anand Pillai: The problem for such sheer stupidity is that amongst the Malays, it is the ignorant that lead, whereas the smart ones are outnumbered.

For as long as the mind is indoctrinated and kept inward-looking, stupidity of this nature will continue.

Tan Kim Keong: For some ignoramuses, anything that resembles a crucifix has innate power to convert them to Christianity when they look at it. What more when there are so many crucifixes-like structures lined up in rows.

Many will be converted instantly, including those seeing them while in the air when their planes are flying over these houses. I simply love these ignoramuses for who and what they are.

Headhunter: Another demonstration of how stupid some of our public servants can be. How about removing the ‘+’ sign from all government-owned computers, handphones and other equipment?

Wandering Star: Why did they pass the building plans? Or, the authority does not know how to read architectural plans?

What are they afraid of, now the buildings are finished? Are they not going to give the developer the certificate of occupation?

Forgive my ignorance, I thought the certificate is based on structural fitness, not so on the appearance.

Is Umno afraid the Christian population will grow immensely in Langkawi? How flattering and comforting to have the pleasure to live in a nation of dense minds.

Ipoh Lan: I see masjid everywhere every day, yet I do not have any desire to convert to Islam.

We waste too much time on stupid issues, says KJ

What other crosses are to be banned next?
