Do you want a medal for praising me, 'Malacca sultan' asks Rafizi

PKR vice-president Rafizi Ramli’s responses to the postings on a Twitter account under the name of self-styled 'sultan' of Malacca Noor Jan Tuah might just earn him a medal.

This was after Rafizi repeatedly complimented the ‘sultan’, who uses the Twitter handler @SultanMelaka_, for his humorous postings on the micro-blogging site.

The ‘sultan’ responded by saying that he was not taken in by Rafizi's praises.

"You have so many tweet complimenting me, do you want a medal?" he asked.

However, the PKR leader replied that he was a ‘pacal dihina’ (a lowly subject) who is unworthy of a medal.

It is unclear if the twitter account belonged to the ‘sultan’ or is just a parody.

Rafizi had earlier said: "There's a lot of wit and humour in @SultanMelaka_'s tweets".

Last week, the self-declared sultan sparked controversy when he granted Abdul Rani Kulup Abdullah a 'datukship', prompting police to investigate the duo under the Sedition Act 1948.

Abdul Rani, described as the "king of police reports" due to his publicity stunts, was brought in by police for questioning yesterday.

Rafizi had found the entire episode humorous, posting on Twitter: "This tweet is my moral support for @SultanMelaka_, Rani Kulup and humourous figures in our society".

Rafizi gave words of encouragement to Noor Jan despite the sedition probe against the latter.

"Don't fear the Sedition Act @SultanMelaka_, I have four investigations against me, keep tweeting," said Rafizi.

The self-proclaimed monarch had irked Malacca Chief Minister Idris Haron, who described Noor Jan as "crazy" and his awards as "worthless".
