When BN is at its weakest, Pakatan can’t get act together
YOURSAY | 'The country is dying and you’re fighting over some local council posts.'
Cracks appearing in Pakatan Harapan?
Disgusted:
PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli, Pakatan Harapan is consists of which parties? DAP, PKR and Party Amanah or DAP, PKR and PAS. It is the former, isn't it?
The Selangor government is ruled by who? Pakatan Rakyat (now defunct) or Pakatan Harapan, the new coalition?
So why is PAS dictating terms in the government which they are not part of? Is Selangor MB Azmin Ali and PKR only interested in power and positions and not what the rakyat want?
Either have Parti Amanah as your ally and PAS as your rival, or PAS as your ally and Parti Amanah as your rival.
In the next election, you can bet your bottom ringgit PKR as well as PAS will lose some seats if DAP steps out of Pakatan Harapan and ties up with Parti Amanah and even PSM, to go against all others, which means Umno, PKR and PAS.
PKR will disintegrate in Selangor as rakyat are fed up with the shenanigans of Azmin and PKR. Don't destroy a good thing for your greed for position and power.
Quigonbond: No, Rafizi, don't air issues behind closed doors. Air it upfront, then prove to Malaysians all of you are mature leaders and you will come to a mutually beneficial compromise, even if not everyone gets away with everything.
That will show us each of you are not weak, you speak up for your constituents, and you are able to progress. It may be behind closed doors at first, but once habits form, you become no different from BN.
I think time is ticking for PKR to be the moderator between Amanah and PAS. It needs to give itself a deadline. There is no point harbouring hope while letting PAS continue to two time you and Umno.
If you don't have a way forward, it's time to move on without PAS no matter how that impacts GE14.
Consistency of message, genuine harmony between members of a progressive coalition is far more important in the long run - and you better expect that the fight with Umno is going to be a long one beyond GE14, whether Harapan wins GE14 or otherwise.
Roguekiller: It all boils down to poor leadership of Pakatan Harapan. It looks like Opposition Leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail can’t put her foot down.
If she can't lead, she has to relinquish her position to a more capable person, otherwise Pakatan Harapan will disintegrate sooner than later.
Poor thing; it was formed just a few months ago and breaking up seems unavoidable and if so, DAP will team up with Amanah; PKR partners PAS. This will fulfil PKR deputy president Azmin's dream.
Sans Blinkers: Who speaks for PKR, Azmin or Wan Azizah? And is DAP sincere in wanting Parti Amanah in Pakatan Harapan? If it is, why don't it support Amanah to have more local council representation?
Why didn't it offer to a few extra seats to Amanah? It is really a let-down considering that today Pakatan Harapan is going to try to convince voters that it is a viable coalition.
Rick Teo: As a strong supporter of DAP, I am extremely disappointed with the Selangor DAP attitude. Amanah should be treated with respect and their request for 24 council seats is fair and reasonable.
DAP should be magnanimous and surrender at least 16 more seats to Amanah as a gesture of goodwill. For Amanah to survive, it has to be given enough seats in the local councils to show its supporters that they are genuine in the quest to replace PAS.
There is still time for DAP to give more seats to Amanah if PKR is unprepared to do so. Make that supreme sacrifice and you will earn a permanent friend in Amanah.
Wira: Basically PKR is over-represented in the local councils. It should sacrifice at least another four seats to Amanah based on the strength of Amanah's representation in the state assembly.
The Analyser: Cracks? The Great Rift Valley looks tiny in comparison. And please note that these squabbles are all about power and selfishness. The bottom line is that Malaysia and Malaysians reap no benefit from this petty infighting.
Give us a break from all this anti-PAS rhetoric. The reality is that Pakatan Harapan, with or without PAS, amounts to nothing.
The only thing holding them together is their ridiculous Common Policy Framework, and the delusions of their 'incapable of doing anything for themselves' supporters.
You tried ABU (Anything but Umno) once and you should have learnt from your mistakes. The fact that you are doing ABU Mark II is truly unbelievable. If you hadn't noticed the problem is not PAS, it's Malaysians.
Legit: There are two things Pakatan Harapan need to do immediately; first, kick PAS out as this party is sleeping with Umno. PKR has to wake up from its infatuation with PAS and learn from the past.
Second, remove Wan Azizah as the opposition leader. She has no clue how to lead. Somebody strong, be it from DAP, PKR or Amanah, should take over.
The current status quo will bury the coalition sooner than later and believe me, Wan Azizah will lead Pakatan Harapan to its worst disaster and bury it completely.
Ah Hoe: PKR wants both PAS and Amanah, but favours PAS more. PKR is not sincere in wanting to be part of Pakatan, which should not accept PAS.
If Pakatan loses Selangor, it'll be due to PKR's approach to have an illicit marriage with PAS.
RCZ: The people want principles, commitment and unity. PAS has none and is archaic. Harapan, please get your act together and the people will vote for you.
EmEmKay: Amanah is an offshoot of PAS, therefore technically PAS seats must be given to them based on ratio of PAS to Amanah seats in the state assembly.
Asking coalition partners PKR, DAP and PAS to give up their allocation is unfair. Next option for Amanah is to be patient and wait for GE14 when PAS will be obliterated.
Onyourtoes: The country is dying and you are fighting over some local council posts. What a bunch of losers.
Keturunan Malaysia: ' PAS, Umno ties - cooperation 'yes', cohabitation 'no' '. PKR, eat this headline for dinner tonight. Kick PAS out.
We are only supposed to have two jokers in a pack of 52 cards. Instead, we have three - Umno, PAS and Azmin.
