Pakatan Harapan came out with a united force today, but the opposition pact has yet to make any stand on some critical issues.

This includes how it will deal with PAS, and also the pact’s stand on hudud

“We can’t jump the gun. We are being careful in laying the foundations (of Pakatan Harapan), one by one.

“As opposed to before, on issues such as hudud and local council elections, we will decide on consensus.

“We will unveil this at the Pakatan Harapan convention in June,” PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli said.

He was speaking at a press conference after Pakatan Harapan inked their common agreement pact in Shah Alam today.

Disagreement over hudud, the Islamic penal code, had been one of the main factors which led to the breakup of the previous opposition pact, Pakatan Rakyat.

Since the coalition's demise, PAS has drifted closer to Umno, with both sides talking about cooperation for Malay-Muslim interests.

When asked how Pakatan Harapan will deal with PAS in the next elections, Rafizi said this will be decided in the future.

“This will unveil itself when we go into the next election,” he said.

Meanwhile, on PAS’ involvement in the Selangor government, PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said this will be maintained for now.

“The Selangor government today was formed after the last election, we are still bound by that,” she said.
