DBKL, Pemudah to address KL traffic congestion
Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) will liaise with the Special Task Force to Facilitate Business (Pemudah) to seek a solution on reducing traffic congestion in the federal capital.
Kuala Lumpur mayor Mhd Amin Nordin said a team would be formed to study the congestion and seek ideas, as well as a new approach to reduce the traffic congestion in the city.
“The team will conduct studies on traffic congestion at 20 major roads in the city, among them Jalan Duta, Jalan Kepong, Jalan Kuching and Jalan Tun Razak,” he said at a media conference today.
He said for a smoother traffic flow at these roads, DBKL would place tow- trucks to remove cars parked at illegal fringes which were the cause of traffic congestion.
In a related development, Mhd Amin said DBKL was still in the process of negotiations with several parties to continue the traffic dispersal project in Jalan Tun Razak, with an allocation of RM900 million under Budget 2016 announced last year.
“DBKL has provided for the allocation from the government. Nevertheless, we are still negotiating with several parties, among them 1MDB and the Duta Ulu Klang Expressway (Duke), as the project needs to be linked to Duke,” he added.
