Difficult for rakyat to accept AG’s ‘indecent’ decision
YOURSAY | ‘Not questioning Apandi's decision is being disloyal to our country.’
Umno man: Stop being 'ungrateful', respect AG's decision
Odin Tajué:
Cheras Umno chief Syed Ali Alhabshee, you are obviously of an environment alien to most of us.
Your understanding of ethics, decorum, the characteristics of a cultured country, and what make for good manners are all totally the opposite of that held by those of the civilised world.
You admonish criticism against attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali's decision, but his decision is indecent. You object to the ‘slandering' of leaders, whereas the statements made against and the descriptions of the pertinent leaders have not been fabrications to defame but are charges with foundation.
Your asking of the people to accept Apandi's decision illustrates your support of deception. Your assertion that Malaysians were lucky to have Najib as PM and the reasons you have provided for it exhibits your questionable moral.
Last but not least, if some people have no respect for Najib, it is simply due to the fact that his words and action have caused him to deserve none. Further, in the civilised, cultured world, respect flows both ways; but Najib has shown little, if any, respect for the people.
Read the report on the discernible details on the celebrated chart demonstrated by Apandi. If you have sufficient intelligence, you will find that the revelation viewed together with your stance and pronouncements prove beyond any reasonable doubt that you belong to the small group whose moral fibre can be bought and irreversibly contaminated even by the very idea of illicit money.
GE14Now!: The disrespect came about as a result of the rather suspicious manner that the previous AG was dumped. This current one has shown that he is but a mindless, loyal minion put into that position to do only one thing – to declare the PM innocent.
There is nothing unethical in questioning an unethical sacking and replacement of the AG's position.
And what would you know about decorum? I suppose allegedly stealing RM2.6 billion is part of your so-called decorum?
Clever Voter: If all of us enjoy the patronage and the free perks that come with the membership, why not? We will even ask how high you want us to jump.
Notice all those who have come to Najib’s 'rescue' are his immediate beneficiaries. It’s a pity most of us subjects have to pay for the right to exist here. In other words, we are being extorted.
Tan Kim Keong: Syed Ali is still living in the feudal era hence we must not question those in authority.
He needs to be reminded that this PM is from a coalition that received only 47 percent of the votes in the last GE. The opposition coalition won 51 percent. So what gratefulness is he talking about?
Anonymous 2299391436500295: Since at least the 1980s, Malaysian officials have always resorted to telling everybody to "stop" something or to "shut up."
One time, a couple of decades ago, some cop in a Malaysian news conference told a BBC reporter to "shut up." So much for your glory days. They never existed.
Kuasa Rakyat: Disrespectful of the AG? On the contrary, not questioning Apandi's decision is being disloyal to our country.
AG operated in same manner during your time, Dr M reminded
Ferdtan: Why are our minsters acting so childish? Salleh Said Keruak was saying the same thing happened during Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s time.
We expect him to explain in rational manner, with all legal facts, why Apandi did not overstep his authority when he declared Najib innocent when the evidence are quite overwhelming?
But no, he dared to come out to say that since Mahathir in his time could do it, so can his Najib-led government. Salleh, have you heard of two wrongs don’t make a right.
Hang Babeuf: "They did it, we too are entitled to do the same." This is, and throughout subsequent history would always have been, an argument to remain mired morally in the Stone Age, in the Dark Ages, in the era of savagery and barbarism.
A government that does not aspire to be and make things better, that does not commit itself to doing so, is morally compromised and paralysed from the outset.
The proof? Just look at this so-called minister, for example. Look at him, how he conducts himself in office, and it's all plain to see there before your eyes. Everybody can see this - except this minister and his political friends.
Anonymous_1426565266: Mahathir may be wrong in his era. But it does not mean that you can continue the wrongdoing just because it was pass down by previous generations.
As a minister, you should improve the system for the benefits of rakyat, not using some lame excuse and abuse it to the maximum for your own and cronies' benefits.
Tan Kim Keong: What you, Salleh, can usefully do now is to ask the AG to explain the basis of his decision and also answer the litany of pertinent questions asked regarding the money, who authorised the transfers to Najib’s private bank account and details of all the transactions.
Caripasal: We do not care about AG during Dr M's era. The present AG has indeed made a mistake in declaring Najib innocent.
He should have said that there was a lack of evidence to charge Najib, and not that Najib is innocent. This is abuse of power.
Speaking Sense: Our constitution fathers never contemplated a day when a government could become so evil that it would deliberately make legal and judicial appointments designed to make a mockery of the law and even the constitution itself.
Alas, that day has come for this country.
