The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) has been urged to investigate if BN used 1MDB funds to pay for Korean superstar Psy's performance at the coalition's Penang Chinese New Year open house in 2013.

DAP parliamentary leader Lim Kit Siang said this question has remained unanswered till this day.

"Probably, PAC can find the answer to this question before it winds up its investigations on 1MDB today and tomorrow, as announced by its chairperson Hasan Arifin," Lim said in a statement today.

He said he was reminded of Psy's performance that year after reading Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak's blog post that all his working visits were for him to be with the people.

The performance had not turned out in BN's favour.

During the event, when Najib asked the crowd "Are you ready for Psy?" the crowd responded loudly "Yes!".

He then asked, "Are you ready for BN?" But the crowd at the back shouted "No" and laughed.

The PAC is expected to wrap up its investigation into 1MDB tomorrow, after interviewing former president and CEO Shahrol Azral Ibrahim Halmi and former 1MDB chairperson Mohd Bakke Salleh.

Hasan said the committee would not interview any other witnesses to avoid delaying the release of its report, much to the chagrin of PAC member Tony Pua.
