Police will summon former deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin’s son over an Instagram post he made which had allegedly disparaged the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM).

Tweeting the matter today, inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said this is so that Farhan Yassin could explain his Instagram post.

“@PDRMsia will call Farhan Yassin to explain what he meant with (picture of a bag of money) placed on the PDRM crest which he uploaded on his Instagram account,” said Khalid in his tweet.

The tiger, which is displayed on the crest, had been allegedly replaced with the picture of a bag of money.

Checks on Farhan’s Instagram account, however, did not find the post in question as it has apparently been removed.

Farhan’s father, Muhyiddin, was sacked from his deputy prime minister’s post after he became increasingly vocal against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak’s handling of the 1MDB fiasco.
