Prime Minister and Umno president Najib Abdul Razak will not be able to sleep well following the suspension of Muhyiddin Yassin as the party's deputy president.

This, according to Gerakan Ketua Cawangan Malaysia (GKCM) president Kamarulazman Habibur Rahman, is because Muhyiddin can now speak out and reveal more information on the Umno president's ongoing scandals.

“I think Umno now need to really worry about Muhyiddin,” he told Malaysiakini in an immediate response to the decision to suspend the ex-DPM.

“If I were Najib, I won't be able to sleep at night because Muhyiddin will spill the beans and reveal everything, one by one,” Kamarulazman said.

When he was still the deputy president, Muhyiddin would not have wanted to go the extra mile and say things that may really hurt the party, he added.

According to Kamarulazman, the suspension has built a platform for Muhyiddin to speak more or even work with anybody, regardless of race and political parties, including former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Najib's biggest rival.

“We are not looking at the issue as Muhyiddin the deputy president, we are looking at this as (an attempt) to silence a Malaysian who wants to speak the truth,” he said.

“This could happen to anybody. This is what Najib's era is about - to act against those who say something critical,” he added.

He vowed that GKCM, which was set up to question Najib's leadership following 1MDB and RM2.6 billion donation scandals, will fight the "opportunist" leaders in the party till the end.

The group, he added, will disseminate its messages through social media, talks, and other programmes and will cooperate with anyone to achieve its mission.

“We are going to work with everybody.

“We are going to stack up our activities. We will make public everything, in terms of what they are supposed to do,” he added.
