Suspended Umno deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin has been asked to repent and help restore the people's confidence in Umno, instead of conspiring with the opposition.
"Put aside your ego and come back to help restore the people's confidence in Umno and not conspire with the opposition to topple the BN government.
"But if you feel burdened by the pressures and condemnation of various parties within Umno, then it is better you leave Umno," Umno Youth Federal Territories chief Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii said in a statement today.
This comes after Muhyiddin attended a press conference yesterday where former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, his allies and various opposition leaders came together to sign a declaration calling for the removal of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Umno Youth FT strongly condemned the actions of Muhyiddin and Mahathir, Razlan said, for being so eager to work with the opposition simply to fulfil their ambitions.
"Even more shocking is that leaders who used to talk about fighting for the Malays and their love of Umno are now conspiring to topple Najib," he said.
This 'misguided' and 'mismatched family' led by Mahathir appears to be a desperate alliance that relies on political enemies who are all looking to fulfil their own agenda.
Razlan said his Youth wing is sickened by this political decay and the purported destruction of Umno, which also happened during former prime minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi's tenure.
They are still trying to topple the country's leader, even as Najib is working hard to improve Malaysia, he added.
"The reality is that the people are getting smarter every day at judging for themselves the evil plans of leaders who should instead be setting a good example for today's generation and those to come," he said.
If they really loved the party and the country, Razlan pointed out that they would not do what Mahathir is doing to the future of the country.
Meanwhile, in a separate statement, MIC Youth expressed full and undivided support for Najib and his leadershiop.
Its chief C Sivarajaah said the leader of the country is not decided by "30 has-beens", but by the voters and ultimately the party who wins the majority of parliamentary seats.
"In this case, the leader selected is Najib.
"This simple lesson in democracy must be re-told to emphasise the fact that Najib was elected by the majority of the people and can only be removed in a general election, unless he voluntarily resigns.
"He cannot be removed by Mahathir and his '30 has-been' political supporters," Sivarajaah said.
Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin had similarly urged the allliance to form an opposition coalition and challenge BN in the next election.
