Abdul Hadi Awang issued a divine reminder to DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang who dismissed the alliance between PAS and Parti Ikatan Bangsa Malaysia (Ikatan) as a lost cause.
"Only God knows the future," the PAS president responded when quizzed on Lim’s remarks.
Earlier today, the DAP veteran described the new opposition bloc as nothing more than "zero plus zero equals to zero" .
Meanwhile, Hadi also denied the new coalition would further divide the Malays.
"All this while, the Malays have been split not because of us. What we are doing is uniting the Malays and all races in Malaysia.
"Even if PAS secures a huge majority (in the election), we will not abandon other races," he told a press conference at the party headquarters in Kuala Lumpur.
To another question, Hadi pledged that the new opposition bloc would not be as extreme as Pakatan Harapan and would adopt the method of advising instead.
"We will choose this approach, not only in Parliament. If the government does something good, we will support, when (what is done) is not good, we advise.
"At the same time, we reject the extreme approach which causes problems for the rakyat," he added.
Hadi was responding to a question on the difference between the new bloc and Harapan.
The PAS president also welcomed other parties which agree with this concept to join the new alternative for the people.
PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan said the new agenda is to take a mature approach and reject the negative steps of the government.
"Our agenda is to fortify the constitution which accepts Islam as the official religion of the federation," he added.
