Muhyiddin Yassin's Pagoh Umno has managed to collect a total of 1,052 signatures for Citizens' Declaration under Save Malaysia, a movement pushing for Najib Abdul Razak to vacate his post as prime minister.

It took about an hour for Save Malaysia organisers to collect the signatures from delegates who attended the launching of the division's meeting at Pekembar complex this afternoon.

The gathered signatures were then handed over to division head Muhyiddin, who is the party's suspended deputy president.

It is understood that some signatures were also gathered yesterday from Jerlun Umno, a division headed by former Kedah menteri besar Mukhriz Mahathir.

The Citizens' Declaration was inked on March 4, by close to 50 leaders comprising politicians and non-governmental organisations calling for Najib to step down.

Among those who signed were former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad, Muhyiddin, DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang, PKR vice-president Chua Tian Chang and Parti Amanah Negara president Mohamad Sabu.

They are also calling for institutional reforms following the damage done under Najib.

Today, Mahathir had called on Umno branches nationwide to hold no-confidence motions against Najib.
