Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali is honoured that Deputy Home Minister Nur Jazlan Mohamad had likened him albeit cynically to controversial US presidential candidate Donald Trump.

"It's an unexpected recognition, but I accept it gladly. It means I am cut from the same cloth as American presidential candidates. This will also help make Malaysia more famous.

"I am truly excited. Indeed I am an admirer of Trump because he is someone who is not a hypocrite," he added in a media statement.

The Perkasa president explained that he admired Trump for always speaking his mind, being direct to the point, never facetious and does not belabour the points in arguments.

"Just like Ibrahim Ali of Malaysia," he added, noting that Trump always spoke what he felt was right, and did not lie.

"This means that Trump is a leader who is not hypocritical and I, Ibrahim Ali, have always used anti-hypocrisy as the motto in my struggle," he continued.

Ibrahim said the recognition was also timely as he had just finished distributing "Reject Hypocrites" stickers.

He also thanked Nur Jazlan, calling the deputy minister an "intelligent person" who makes discerning choices.

"Nur Jazlan is the same as his father before him, the late Mohamad Rahmat. He is his father's son," he concluded.

Earlier today, Nur Jazlan had joked that Trump is the Ibrahim Ali of America, when questioning the decision by US voters who saw their country as democratic, but still support a racist candidate like the billionaire.

"The Republicans chose Trump - the Ibrahim Ali of America - as their presidential candidate. Whether he can win or not, I am not sure.

"But this is an example of a country which claims to be democratic to all, but their own society chose a person who is racist and can be seen as an idiot for their presidential candidate," he added.
