Johor regent Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim dispelled rumours that he will buy the Italian football club AC Milan, saying he is not that wealthy.

“I do not intend to buy AC Milan. I do not have the money to buy AC Milan.

“I am not rich like some other Malaysian businessmen,” said the regent in response to rumours on the matter.

“I am only a young man with big dreams and ambitions, that’s all,” wrote the prince on his Facebook.

Tunku Ismail said the article in Singapore’s Straits Times , which likely sparked the rumours, was a general one about his work in Johor and his achievements.

“If I were to choose a club, it would be AC Milan. That’s one of my dreams, but that doesn’t mean I will buy it.

“It is just a club that I have loved since I was a kid. That’s all, so to answer the speculations, the answer is no (I am not buying it),” wrote the regent.

Tunku Ismail, who was appointed regent this month to administer the state while the Johor sultan is abroad, is passionate about football and has been vocal about the state of the sport at national level.
