Trouble is brewing once again in the opposition coalition, with DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng expressing disappointment with PKR's decision to contest against the party in five seats in the Sarawak state election.

"If one seat, we can understand. We can try to overlook, but (this is at least) five seats, how can we overlook this?

"We feel that DAP has been shortchanged," Lim told reporters outside the Senadin nomination centre in Miri today.

Lim said there was no commitment from PKR to abide by Pakatan Harapan's agreement not to contest against each other.

He said DAP and PKR contesting for the same seats will confuse the people.

The two are clashing in at least five seats - Mulu, Mambong, Ngemah, Simanggang and Murum.

PKR deputy president Azmin Ali has approved the multi-cornered fights.

In retaliation, DAP fielded Abdul Aziz Isa ( on the right in photo ) in Batu Kitang.

"PKR had breached our agreement so we had no choice but to contest in Batu Kitang," Abdul Aziz said.

"The Merdeka Center survey showed DAP had more support than PKR if we contested in Batu Kitang but in the spirit of Pakatan Harapan, we gave way for PKR to contest in this winnable seat," he added.

PKR's Batu Kitang candidate Voon Shaik Ni ( shaking hands with Abdul Aziz in photo above ) refused to comment on the fight with DAP, saying "dirty linen shouldn't be washed in public".

Voon said it would be up to the respective party leaderships to sort out the frayed ties, and remains confident of her chances.

"I don't think little setbacks like this can affect our confidence," she added.

Pakatan Harapan was formed after its predecessor Pakatan Rakyat, which included PAS, fell apart.
