Two directors of SRC International Sdn Bhd, Nik Faisal Ariff Kamil and Suboh Md Yasin, who have gone missing should be replaced, DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua said.

He said the Treasury has replaced the board of directors of 1MDB, so the same should apply to SRC International, a Finance Ministry-owned subsidiary.

SRC International has been embroiled in the controvesy surrounding the alleged transfer of RM42 million into the personal bank accounts of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

“SRC International is no longer functioning today, the two directors are missing, and so there is no reason for the duo to remain as directors of SRC International,” Pua said.

“The prime minister may not know the money has been transferred into his accounts, but SRC International needs to answer why it deposited the money into his accounts,” he told a press conference in Petaling Jaya today.

Pua suggested that Nik Faisal and Suboh be replaced, with a new board of directors headed by the Treasury secretary-general Irwan Serigar Abdullah.

“The new board should be headed by Irwan because he is the top civil servant in the Finance Ministry of Finance. He should be looking into this scandal,” he said.

‘Police should respond to the public’

The Selangor DAP chief also said that the police should inform the public on what they have done against the duo.

“The police should investigate and take all necessary measures to chase after these two.

“Perhaps the police should respond on what they have done. Maybe they had the red alert issued without telling us,” he said.

According to the Finance Ministry parliamentary reply to Pua, Nik Faisal and Suboh are still directors of SRC International.

SRC International was once a 1MDB subsidiary. The company is suspected to transfer money into Najib’s personal bank accounts and the money is allegedly originated from 1MDB.

However, attorney-general Mohamed Apandi Ali has cleared Najib of any wrongdoing on the funds channelled into Najib’s personal bank accounts.

Last July, a travel ban was reportedly issued on Nik Faisal and Suboh, and since then both of them are said to have gone missing.

Last August, they had been ordered to appear before the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to assist the investigation on SRC International.
