Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak remained mum on whether he will keep the latest cabinet reshuffle line-up until the next general election.

"It depends when the next general election will be. Nobody knows, I don't know yet," he laughed.

Najib was asked if he would maintain the latest line-up, following the third cabinet reshuffle after the 2013 general election.

Earlier in his speech however, the prime minister said the portfolios of the ministers in the prime minister's department will be changed soon.

The last reshuffle on July 28, 2015 saw the then deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin and minister Shafie Apdal dropped and the posts of Ministers in the Prime Minister's Department increased to 11.

Meanwhile, Najib said he had accepted Ahmad Husni Hanadzlah's decision to step down as finance minister II for personal reasons.

"He (Husni) has informed me of his wish to retire, so I respect his decision. He is quite ready to retire," he said.

Husni, who is also Tambun parliamentarian, was first appointed to the post on April 10, 2009.

He held the post of deputy international trade and industry minister and deputy finance minister before he was made a full minister.

Meanwhile, the prime minister said the lack of women representation in his new line-up was not a problem.

"No woman? We can always include at some point of time, not to worry," he said.

The late Sungai Besar MP Noriah Kasnon held the post of deputy plantation and commodities minister. She has been replaced by Umno's Silam MP Datu Nasrun Datu Mansur.
