Penang police may have formed a taskforce to expedite investigations on vandalism involving Hindu temples but the public are concerned over their delay in taking action, said Deputy Chief Minister II P Ramasamy.

Inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar announced the setting-up of the taskforce on Jul 11 but ruled out acts of terrorism.

Ramasamy tried to explain some of the reasons why there were frequent incidents of temple desecration in the northern region of late.
