Muhyiddin Yassin can clinch an Oscar for his performance since being expelled from Umno, according to a portal aligned to Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

"Out of the blue, we were stunned by the statement from the Parti Pribumi (Bersatu Malaysia) strongman that he is disappointed with the allegation that DAP is anti-Malay.

"This is the turnaround by Muhyiddin, who was once known as a champion of the Malays when in the Umno leadership.

"There is no need to recall how Muhyiddin viewed DAP then," said MyKMU.net.

In the past, detractors, including DAP leaders, often described the former deputy prime minister as an ultra-Malay.

At one point, DAP veteran Lim Kit Siang had challenged Muhyiddin to state if he was Malay first or Malaysian first.

Responding to this, Muhyiddin had replied: "I am Malay first, but being Malay doesn't mean I am not Malaysian."

Meanwhile, MyKMU questioned what has happened to Muhyiddin.

"The Muhyiddin that Umno once knew has now changed into another facet of personality who seems to be confused with himself," it added.

"One by one, he (Muhyiddin) is showing off his true colours.

"If, at one time, he labelled Anwar (Ibrahim) as the 'King of Liars', now that term haunts him," it said.

On Monday, Muhyiddin had criticised Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak over his remarks concerning the collaboration between Bersatu and DAP.

The former deputy premier said the prime minister and his supporters would use DAP to spook the Malays.
