Water supply to consumers in the affected areas in the Petaling region, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Sepang had been restored in stages since this morning.

Head of the Corporate Communications Unit, Kumpulan Pengurusan Air Selangor, Amin Lin Abdullah, said in a statement today that the supply disruption was due to the closure of the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant from Sept 22 to 24 due to river pollution.

“The status of the water supply restoration was 97 percent in Sepang and 92 percent in Kuala Langat, 72 percent in Hulu Langat and 63 percent in Petaling,” he said.

He said consumers could obtain the latest status on the restoration works via the handphone application ‘mySYABAS’ or surf www.syabas.com.my.
