The police have detained several men believed to be Australians for allegedly stripping down to their Malaysian flag underwear, The Star Online reported today.

Sepang OCPD Abdul Aziz Ali confirmed the arrest.

The men were said to have taken off their clothes and revealed their briefs at the Formula 1 Petronas Grand Prix at Sepang yesterday.

They were arrested for public indecency and disrespecting the national flag.

The photographs of the foreigners in the Malaysian flag briefs went viral on the social media.

Astro Awani also reported that F1 organisers were taken to task for failing to control the crowds.
