Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) president Muhyiddin Yassin has declined to reveal his stance on PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's 'hudud' motion.

"I will only state (my stance) if the (motion) is actually tabled.

"We have our position but I'm not too sure whether it will come out or not, but when that comes we will make our position clear," Muhyiddin told reporters outside the parliament lobby today.

Earlier Parti Warisan Sabah (Warisan) president Shafie Apdal said he will not vote in favour of the motion.

"I won’t be voting for it, let’s make it clear," Shafie told reporters when met outside Parliament.

Asked what the party's stand was, Shafie said it was the same as Sarawak's.

He also said that they would need to address the needs and requirements of Sabahans.

Sarawak BN has said that it will not support Hadi's motion, which is his Private Member's Bill to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act 1965.

Critics said the proposed amendments, which would give the syariah court wider powers to punish, would lead to the implementation of hudud in the country.
